Insulating system BetonTherm cork

Thermal insulating composite system Betontherm cork

Reinforced thermal insulating composite system with high a density cement bonded particle board 1350 Kg/m³ and an insulating compressed blond cork 160 Kg/m³.
The BetonTherm cork reinforced thermal insulating composite system has a high performance thanks to its excellent mechanical strenght to compression. The external panel is composed with cement bonded particle board with high density (1350 Kg/m³) and high compression resistance (9000 kPa) and its reaction to fire is class A2 certified. The compressed blond cork is highly insulating, breathable and it is totally natural and recyclable.

Betontherm cork is the ideal system for making composite systems with high thermal-acoustic insulation, high mechanical resistance and thermal displacement. This system allows an excellent insulation, both internal and external, of the perimeter walls, ceilings and partition walls. It is suitable for both traditional constructions and dry wood systems (type X-Lam or Platform Frame), or stone.

The reinfoced insulating system Betontherm cork is made by coupling two high-performance materials in the factory: the first is the cement bonded particle board BetonWood which boasts a high density, 1350 kg/m³, a excellent compressive strength (9000 kPa) which allows the system to resist vandalism and impacts, and is certified in class A2 for fire resistance; the internal panel, on the other hand, is in compressed blond cork type Cork Panels, with medium density, 160 kg/m³, but which provides excellent thermal-acoustic insulation, high thermal displacement , high breathability and gives resistance to molds to the entire structure.

The Betontherm cork thermal insulation is one of the best existing products on the market as materials, both in terms of durability, mechanical strength, resistance to humidity, mass, thermal displacement, has an excellent fire behavior, and is also suitable for both new masonry and wood constructions, and above all as a panel for the restoration of deteriorated plasters and persistent humidity.
The system includes:

• the Betontherm cork panels have a layer made by cement bonded particle board, which constitutes the outermost rigid layer on which the desired finish can be applied. This panel is supplied already coupled with the insulating material and is milled both on the external edges and on the fixing points for housing the dowels. Edge milling makes it possible to reinforce the joints between the panels before smoothing, with the application of a glass tape, with adhesive on one side, in order to prevent the formation of micro-cracks in case of settlement of the building;
• BetonFix plugs equipped with anti-thermal bridge protection cap;
• fiber glass net and accessories;
• adhesives, smoothing compounds and finishing products.

If you are interested in this type of solution, we recommend that you take a look at our other thermal insulating composite systems in the section Thermal insulating composite system.

All materials are also recyclable and certified. The BetonWood cement bonded particle board is also made exclusively with wood from controlled forests in compliance with the FSC directives (Forest Stewardship Declaration).

The cement bonded particle board has so many advantages, including:

• very high compression resistance;
• high resistance to climate change and frost;
• insects and fungi are unable to attack or damage it;
• thanks to its physical and mechanical characteristics, the product is considered one of the best materials for light weight constructions;
• incombustible (A2 according to the DIN 4102 Standard);
• free of formaldehyde and free of asbestos, asbestos etc .;
• free of recycled inks (present in materials with recycled cellulose);
• resistant to atmospheric agents;
• workable with wooden tools;
• high flow rate;
• recyclable, ecological, respects the environment;
• construction material tested and authorized according to the European standards in force.

The blond Cork Panels are characterized by:

• excellent resistance to compression;
• high breathability;
• avoids the formation of mold or condensation;
• allows to obtain high insulating values with reduced thickness;
• excellent thermal and acoustic insulation;
• high opening to the diffusion of water vapor, which contributes to the construction of breathable buildings with high comfort;
• high capacity to absorb ambient humidity, which constitutes a natural hygrometric regulator system;
• quality assurance, thanks to continuous checks and tests carried out according to the European standards in force.

• the delivery of the material is normally carried out by lorries, considering the high mass of the pallets it is advisable for the recipient to have suitable equipment and mechanical lifting means with a minimum capacity of 35/40 quintals for unloading the goods;
• it is advisable to deposit the boards overlapping them one on top of the other and in order to keep them in a horizontal position, with square section supports and a minimum spacing of 80 cm;
• the transport of the single slabs must be done by cutting, never horizontally;
• avoid direct exposure to sunlight and adequately cover the material to avoid excessive accumulation of dust;
• the pallets are equipped with an upper protective plate, which must be repositioned each time above the other boards and ballasted at the top to avoid distortion of the plates below it.
